Seed originally saved from a single plant that overwintered in Ellen Halsels garden on Orcas Island. A beautiful red romaine perfect for salad when young, head lettuce once mature. 

Plant March through early September, or year round in a greenhouse for winter salads. Will overwinter when planted in early fall, can be direct sown or transplanted.
